Beyond the Ball is a Detroit Pistons campaign motivating the younger demographic. The Pistons struggle with disinterest from younger fans, causing the team to remain irrelevant among the younger generations. Our goal was to create a campaign that targets the younger demographic and motivates them to seek mentorship and self-improvement through basketball and the Pistons brand. 

Collaborating with Zofia and Dakota, we did a deep dive into the history of the Detroit Pistons. We reached an urban style direction influenced by graffiti and the cityscape of Detroit. As the motion designer, my job was to create three short story videos that align with the campaign motto. Inspired by the wonderful murals in Detroit, we illustrated a few graffiti designs to incorporate in the motion piece. Our team effort resulted in a campaign that pushes teens to go “Beyond the Ball”
