Minds Matter is a non-profit organization encouraging high-school students from low-income families to enroll in a 4-year college. Minds Matter has multiple chapters across the country. The Detroit chapter struggles with low application rates in their program. I was tasked with redesigning the application form on the Minds Matter website to encourage students to apply for the program.
Researching Minds Matter Detroit, I found that the organization lacked an active online presence and an overwhelming application form on its website. The research continued by conducting two user interviews to identify challenges and opportunities. In addition, a persona was developed to fulfill the needs of a student or parent who is filling out the Minds Matter application. Wireframes and prototypes were constructed during the process.
This was a great opportunity to practice coding for mobile and develop a user flow for an interactive application. In addition, I gained experience curating a design for a non-profit organization.
